Confirmation Practice – Monday Night! (April 30th)

this one came as a surprise. We have practice Monday night at the Cathedral. It starts at 6 pm and goes until 7:30.

A parent or your sponsor MUST attend with you.

Change O’ Plans!

Ok, you know how we were supposed to be in the Church today, learning from Fr. Mark about the mass? Well, apparently, plans have changed. We will be in our normal classroom tonight, and we will be watching a movie (Molakai: The story of Fr. Damien) so please, bring comfy chairs and a snack to share (cookies, muffins, or drinks in pouches, such as lemonade or juice, would be welcome!)

Class Session 4/12 – Materialism and Consumption

Dear Confirmandi,

We are in the normal classroom tonight at the standard time of 6:30. Our topic is “Stuff”…as in the relentless pursuit of more stuff….the lifestyle of mindless consumption that is a critical part of our modern economy. It’s also deeply contrary to a proper Catholic way of life.

Be thinking about the “stuff” you buy, or would like to buy, or that you see your friends buy. What does that “stuff” and the desire for it say about you, your family, and the larger world you live it?
